Grandma: I couldn't find the words to say, and couldn't gather my thoughts enough to put into words. I sat by your grave and talked to you, but I still struggled to let you know just how much you were loved, and how much you truly are and will continue to be missed. I'm sorry if it wasn't said enough, but grandma, you were one beautiful, giving, and undeniably wonderful woman. You had a heart of gold, and the wittiest attitude I ever will know. You carried yourself with a radiant confidence that is an inspiration to all. Our late nights eating Hungry Howie's and watching Cartoons, and our countless visits to shop meant more to me than I could even begin to convey. You always were there to lend an ear, and I know if there ever comes a time, I can meet you where you were laid to rest, pop out some buffalo wings (your favorite!), and you'll spare me the time; listening down from above with Grandpa by your side. I love you, grandma. Always.

You were an amazing woman! I will miss you more than words can describe. You will always be a hero to me. You were a gentle, kind, caring, energetic, loving and determined woman. I am so proud to have shared so many fond memories growing up with you. There was your delicious food such as your pancakes, bologna sandwiches and city chicken. I'll never forget our imaginary trips to Hawaii when I was mad at my parents (LOL), picking corn from the farmer's field, making mud paddies, drawing on your basement wall to honor all moms on Mother's Day, chatting about anything and everything, going to dinner (you loved Cooker), escorting you on your many errands in my 1981 Buick Regal back in the day, celebrating my marriage with the funky chicken on the dance floor, and celebrating the birth of my twins. You have made an impact on this earth and on me. I will never forget YOU! I LOVE YOU!!!

It is highly unusual for the Hebrew prayer of Kaddish to ever be recited upon the death of a Christian. My mother-in-law/grandmother of my daughter, through her final gesture to beckon her 3rd daughter in her last moments before peace, is worthy of this, the highest tribute. May her soul enjoy eternal repose in Heaven. Mom – Your journey home has been quite a trip. My premonition came to pass and I thank you for asking me to visit with you. I don’t know what your reason was to ask only me to be present by your bedside your final evening. And I regret that we didn't stay with you just an hour longer. I’m sorry that during that last hour there was no one there to hold your hand and to let you know that you are moving into a realm where serenity will surround you. We simply have to believe in a world that we can’t see. We have to trust that God thought it was now time for you to come home. And Dad is waiting for you. His Irish eyes will be smiling while he once again sings “Danny Boy” to you.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.

Love --- Always & Forever, Your Daughter
P.S. I don’t think dad knows any Polish songs.
